Commercial steel stud partition framing across Perth metro. Non-loadbearing walls, fire-rated assemblies, deflection heads, and full lining installed from the drawings, first time, every time.
Get a Quote in 24 Hours →Steel stud framing is the backbone of every commercial interior. Whether you're building partition walls in an office, framing out a warehouse office, or creating fire-rated separations in a medical centre, the quality of the steel stud work determines everything that follows — lining, flushing, painting, and the final finish. Walls that are out of plumb or out of square cost time and money downstream.
At Crafted Up, steel stud framing is one of our core services. We install 64mm, 76mm, and 92mm steel stud systems in 0.55, 0.75 and 1.15 BMT gauges for commercial projects across the Perth metropolitan area. Every wall is laid out directly from the architectural drawings, plumbed, squared, and installed to AS/NZS 4600.
We work with Rondo, Studco and Nashco systems for builders, project managers and fitout contractors who need their steel stud framing done right the first time with no callbacks, no re-work, and no surprises at lining stage.
Steel stud framing is the standard for commercial construction in Australia and for good reason. Timber has its place in residential framing, but for any serious commercial project, steel is what gets specified.
Meets fire-rating requirements without additional treatment. Critical for NCC compliance on multi-storey and fire-separated commercial builds.
Won't warp, shrink, twist or cup like timber. What you frame is what stays no nail pops, no cracked joints at the flushing stage.
Steel doesn't feed termites. Critical in Perth's climate where white ant pressure is high across most metro LGAs.
Significantly lighter than timber, which makes handling easier on multi-level sites and reduces dead load on structural slabs.
Factory-rolled to exact dimensions every time. No selecting through the stack for usable studs, no surprises once you start framing.
Paired with the right plasterboard and insulation, steel stud walls achieve the FRLs and acoustic separations specified in commercial documentation.
The right stud size and gauge depends on the wall height, acoustic or fire rating, and whether the wall is simple partition or shaft/fire-rated. Here's the core range we install day in, day out on Perth commercial projects:
Our typical steel stud framing package covers everything from set-out to paint-ready lining. We can supply and install, or install only if the builder is procuring materials direct.
Plenty of crews can put studs up. Here's why builders across Perth keep calling Crafted Up back.
We work directly from the architectural plans. Full set-out is done accurately and completely no guesswork, no callbacks to clarify basic details, no ringing the PM mid-install.
Every project is documented digitally. Pre-install slab checks, progress photos, plumb and square inspections logged before lining begins. Builders get full visibility.
Apprentice-trained with decades of steel stud framing across Canada, New Zealand and Perth. From NZDF defence facilities to Polestar EV showrooms.
Walls are installed to tolerances tight enough that the lining and flushing goes on easy. No hollow boards, no bowed walls, no joints cracking six months later.
We work around M&E services, leaving clean access for electricians and plumbers before lining. We know the sequence and we don't hold other trades up.
We don't do residential side jobs. 100% of our focus is commercial projects for builders, fitout contractors and project managers across Perth metro.
A proven five-step workflow that keeps your project on programme and your PM in the loop.
Steel stud framing is part of the scope on nearly every commercial build. Here's where we install it most often across Perth:

View Project →It depends on the wall height, whether it's acoustic or fire-rated, and whether it runs to structure or just ceiling height. As a rough guide, 64mm studs are fine for low-height office partitions, 76mm is the commercial standard for most walls up to about 3.6m, and 92mm or larger is used for taller walls, acoustic assemblies, or anywhere you need a services cavity. Send us the drawings and we'll spec the right stud for the job.
BMT stands for Base Metal Thickness the actual thickness of the steel before galvanising. 0.55 BMT is the standard gauge for non-loadbearing partitions. 0.75 BMT is heavier and used for taller walls or where acoustic performance matters. 1.15 BMT is the heaviest common gauge and used for full-height walls to structure, door jambs, and shaft wall systems. Heavier BMT = stiffer, stronger, more screw holding power, but more expensive.
Both. We have trade accounts with all the major suppliers (Westgyp, Rondo, Studco, Nashco, Gyprock) and can supply and install on a turn-key basis, or install client-supplied materials if the builder is procuring direct. Either way, the quality of the install is the same.
Yes. We install fire-rated wall systems to 30, 60, 90 and 120 minute FRL ratings using the appropriate stud gauge, plasterboard type (Fyrchek, Shaftliner), and assembly details. Every fire-rated wall is installed strictly to the tested system documentation so it meets BCA / NCC compliance. SWMS and certifications available on request.
Yes that's one of the main reasons builders use us. We come on-site with the architectural drawings, mark out the walls, check against services and structural grids, and frame from there. We don't need the builder to mark walls out for us. If there's a clash or discrepancy on the drawings, we flag it before we start framing, not after.
It varies with stud size, BMT, wall height, acoustic or fire requirements, and access. As a rough guide, a basic single-sided partition using 76mm 0.55 BMT studs with 10mm standard board is typically $85–110/m² supplied and installed. Full fire-rated double-layer assemblies can run $140–180/m² or more. Send us the drawings for an actual price within 24 hours.
